Goldstream Sports Classic Trail Update

We have seen a spike in use of our trail. It is very exciting and the reports are great. Kai, our chief engineer, has worked hard to create a great drag for the trail. This creates a wonderfully flat surface and the tracks are firm and deep.

Come on out anytime and use the trail. You are always welcome to park in our parking area. Bring the family and bring friends. The more, the merrier. If you are unsure where the trail starts, just pop your head in the store. You will have walked over the start and finish of the trail as you enter the store, but we will be glad to guide you just the same!

Stone Grinding Sled Runners

Just like cross-country skis, sled runner plastics really like to be stone ground and made fresh and clean again. Whether you are racing the Open North American, The Rondy, the Alaska Dog Mushers Association preliminary races or even the Yukon Quest and Iditarod, having the right texture and a smooth base is important.

Texture on sled runners not only allow the sled to track properly behind the dog team, but it allows the wax on the runner and also, but especially, the waxless runner deal with water created by the friction of the sled sliding over the snow.

We have a system that fits QCR system plastics.

We also offer pre-race waxing on runners in the ThermoBag! Every second counts!

Great deals on skis, boots and clothing

We have some great savings on select ski boots, skis and clothing.

We have great kid's skis for all levels of skiing and all ages.

Adult skate, classic and touring skis at awesome blowout prices!

All ski clothing is 20% off. Check out the thermal base layers, mid-layers and outer layers. Stay warm and dry on the ski trails!

Tech Tip: Ski Wax Irons

Many people are still using their clothing irons to apply wax to skis. If you are trying to be economical think about this:

Clothing irons can fluctuate by up to 60 degrees (F) in a matter of seconds. An iron that is too hot will sear your bases shut rendering them impermeable to wax. That means a new set of skis. Not too economical is it!

Toko and Swix have great wax irons that will deliver a constant and accurate amount of heat to apply your waxes. This ensures that, with correct temperatures with waxes, your bases will be safe for more years to come.

If you have damaged your skis with your iron too hot, we may be able to salvage the ski with stone grinding. This will only work if the depth of the searing is not too close to the polyurethane resin in the ski.
