While dry weather has most of us waiting to access our winter wonderland, here at Goldstream Sports we're keeping the dream alive by doing snow dances hourly and waxing (and re-waxing) our skis, ready for action.

Tech Tip: A good hot wipe is just the thing for your skis

Clean skis go faster, so after weeks of skiing on the grimy, dirty snow, now might be a good time to clean the skis to remove any soil from the base surface. A good, gentle way to clean the skis, while incresing their performance is a hot wipe.

First, drip and iron any warm wax (such as Toko S3 Yellow). Then, before the wax hardens, wipe it off with a lint-free paper like Fiberlene from Swix or Toko's Base Tex cleaning and polishing cloth. Doing this every once in a while will prevent dirt from being pushed into the pores of the ski base during repeated waxings.

As always, you are welcome to use our customer waxing bench and tools, and use the opportunity to pick our brains about the fine points of ski waxing.

Hauling kids or cargo made easy

Sleds are a great way to haul things along wherever you go. Sleds can pull kids, camping gear, or other precious cargo like watermellons, blocks of ice, or bricks.
