This low fluoro wax has great dirt-resistant qualities, and is especially good in old snow conditions, allowing the ski to breakaway cleaner, sooner. The wax also reduces static cling created in ski use. The wax should be applied every 5th wax as a base coat. If the snow is cold, molybdenum can be used in a 50/50 mixture with a blue base wax as a hardener. The molybdenum wax also replenishes the graphite in the black-based skis giving a longer life to the ski. |

“Well the races went great for a few of us and not so good for some others. I opted to ski in the classic sprint on Sunday, rather than the pursuit – which starts off as a classic race and turns into a skate race. I think there were about 60 guys on the start list and it was one of the hardest classic sprint courses I have ever seen. It had 2 steep climbs and 2 crazy downhills, so it was sweet!
I ended up qualifying 13th, which was awesome for me. 30 people got to qualify, so chances were pretty good, but I was happy to be so close to the front. I was also the only American to qualify for the heats; none of the women made it, and Brent broke a pole, Garrott Cuzzy fell on a hard corner, Kevin Hochtle was not skiing very fast, and Bart was just not in it.
I got to move on into the fifth heat in the quarterfinals. I did not have the best kick, as the tracks were icy and it was raining a little, and the other guys in my heat were able to kick up the hills a bit better. I ended up 4th so I did not qualify for the next round, oh well, at least I got to do a little more racing and things were good.
It was great watching the Saturday races, there were many good skiers. Our US guys had a rough day, but if you look at the competition, the guy who won last week’s World Cup took second place this week, so there were some crazy fast dudes.
The girls did amazing too. Taz was leading for a bit of her race and ended up 5th and Liz ended up 6th so it was a very good showing.
We are now in Kranska Gora Slovenia just 15 clicks down the road from Tarvisio where we will have the U23 worlds in about a month from now. We may get to watch a world cup alpine event here in a couple of weeks, so that could be sweet. The snow looks good here, deep and a lot of it.
Today we got to drive through 3 countries starting in Germany, then through Austria, and into Slovenia. It was very cool. We thought about running into Italy this afternoon to make it 4 for the day, but it was about 2k to far for the legs to carry us.
This next weekend we have 2 distance skate races; a 15k individual start on Saturday and a 30k mass start on Sunday, they should be awsome. I am starting to feel good and comfortable with the time change."
